Native Tree In A Pot (Duration 2 hours)

Native Tree In A Pot (Duration 2 hours)

Native Tree In A Pot (Duration- 2 hours)

When you think of native trees you may think of large spaces with towering Eucalypts. Did you know you can grow many Australian native trees in pots or containers?

In this 2-hour workshop I will show you how to transplant and grow a native tree successfully in a pot, so you can enjoy the benefits of Australian native plants and wildlife in your courtyard, balcony or any sized garden space.

I will discuss some basics of native gardens as well as showing you examples of fantastic native plantings in containers. You will learn some essentials about the root systems of Australian native trees and how to prune your tree to sustain its life in a pot.

You will select your tree from my home-grown collection and with my guidance and step by step instructions you’ll plant this into a 200mm pot.  You will learn about the types of soils and watering requirements for natives to thrive and how to scale up into bigger pots as your plants grow. You’ll see methods to incorporate other types of plants (natives or exotics) into a large planter while you watch small native seedlings grow larger.

At the end of this workshop you will have your own potted native tree to take home, the knowledge to plant, grow and care for native plants plus an understanding of native wildlife which may visit your garden.

Just bring yourself (all tools and equipment are provided) and wear something that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. There will be additional plants for sale at the end of the workshop should you wish to carry on your native gardening when you get home. Come along for an easy-going and informative session of gardening and chatting.

WORKSHOPS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE. PLEASE READ CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY; BY BOOKING A WORKSHOP YOU AGREE TO THESE POLICIES.
